Palmetto #1347AF
TFE/Synthetic
LOW COST
GENERAL SERVICE
PACKING |
 |
Palmetto Syn-Tex is a cost effective
combination of absorbent synthetic-textile staple yarn. The 'thirsty' nature of this
proprietary yarn permits a 50% pick-up of virgin PTFE suspensold. The fibers are protected
from chemical attack, running friction is reduced, and sealability is enhanced. Low gland
follower squeeze extends packing and sleeve life, and decreases motor energy draw. The
entire packing is saturated in our proprietary break-in lubricant which aids in initial
start-up preventing overheating and glazing. |

Palmetto #1007AF
Graphite/Synthetic
LOW COST GENERAL
SERVICE PACKING |
 |
Palmetto 1007AF is a graphite throughout
interwoven braid Syn-Tex yarn. Each strand of our exclusive synthetic textile yarn is
heavily impregnated with graphite and a proprietary viscous grease prior to braiding. Heat
dissipation is enhanced since the graphite particles are able to conduct heat through the
body of the packing. This is a far superior method versus surface coatings. The special
lubricant (viscous grease) is engineered to leach out of the packing upon an increase in
frictional heat. This lubricant release will lower friction heat which automatically
reduces the release of internal lubricant. The self-adjusting flow of internal lubricant
increases packing and sleeve life. |

Palmetto #1030AF
Graphited Aramid
GENERAL SERVICE
PACKING |
 |
Palmetto 1030AF is the direct replacement for
graphited asbestos. Style 1030AF is braided from Palmetto's exclusive Quadrasyn
Aramid composite fiber and heavily impregnated with our time-proven Impregloid solid
lubricant system. Unlike conventional packings, 1030AF does not employ a liquid
lubricant; thus packing shrinkage and the resulting need for constant gland adjustment is
substantially reduced. 1030AF will provide longer service life and virtually no sleeve
wear! 600ºF (290ºC) 3-11 pH. |
|
Palmetto # 1350
Aramid Fiber Slurry Packing |
 |
Palmetto 1350 is an interwoven aramid fiber
packing, impregnated with TFE and saturated with a high temperature inert lubricant.
Because of its exceptionally high tensile strength, style # 1350 has proven to be
one of the best packings available for such extreme service applications as slurry pumps,
hydropulpers, sludge pumps and dredge pumps. |
|
Palmetto # 1588
TFE/Carbon Fiber
Paper Mill Packing |
|
Palmetto #1588 is an non-contaminating, high
shaft speed, paper mill packing. Interwoven carbon construction assures long service
life for Jordans, refiners, clarifiers, digesters and other paper process equipment. pH
1-14. Temp. 600ºF (315ºC). Style 1588 is rated at 2 to 4 times the service life of
TFE/asbestos. |
|
Palmetto #1389
Graphite/TFE Composite
UNIVERSAL
CHEMICAL PACKING |
 |
Super Tephite resists chemicals with a 0-14 pH.
range. #1389 dissipates frictional heat with a 3300FPM (shaft speed) rating. Tephite is
rated at minimum of 3 to 5 times the life of both TFE and Asbestos packings. Style #1389
'smart fiber' construction assures universal packing standardization for under 550ºF
(260ºC). |
|
Palmetto's PINNACLE
Flexible Graphite/High Temperature Resin and Inert Lubricant |
 |
Pinnacle combines unmatched heat
dissipation, sealability and lubricity to form a packing which provides extended service
life with virtually zero shaft scoring at low leak off in pumps (no flush required).
In valves, 2 exclusive passive corrosion inhibitors prevent stem pitting.
This is the only competitively priced packing that can handle all applications 0-14 pH
(except for fuming nitric acid, aqua regia, and molten alkali metals). |
|
Palmetto #2970
Aramid W/NBR
BINDER SHEET
GASKETING |
 |
2970 is the direct replacement for asbestos
sheet gasketing. Manufactured of predominantly Aramid with premium NBR binders
assures long shell life vs. asbestos sheet. Style 2970 is soft and compressible and is
highly recommended for such applications as pipe flanges, mixers, ovens, kettle,
manifolds, digesters, tanks, columns and pumps. Temp. 750ºF (399ºC). Leachable Chloride
content is less than 100 ppm which helps prevent flange pilling. |
